'Survivors' of the sleepless night

Last weekend was a long weekend because Friday is a public holiday as it's the anniversary for the hand-over of Hong Kong to China. Hence we had 3 whole days of holiday. Couldn't miss this chance to do some outing and some sightseeing in Hong Kong, can't we ? And with the European friends around, they definitely know the way to get things heat up - clubbing. I let myself a little loose that long weekend and follow them for some 'wild' and 'crazy' nights. We decided to stay for the night instead of going back to the hall after the midnight movie on last Friday night because we were so 'enthusiastic' to see the flag rising ceremony in the Convention Centre in Wan Chai, which we told it would be held at 6am in the morning. This is also why we decided to stay in Wan Chai instead of going back because it's nearly impossible for us to wake up 5 am in the morning to get back to Causeway Bay. So a bnuch of the 'enthusiastic' people stay up the night in Wan Chai, thinking it would be like historical moment to watch the flag-rising. When it was near 5.30am, we started to head off to the Convention Centre. Interestingly, we were the first bunch of 'tourists' arrived there. It was so early that by the time we were there, the police on duty were just started to dividing their work shifts. And the worst thing was, we were told the flag-rising was on 8am and not 6am ! We were all too beaten up by exhaustion and fatigueness that we decided to go back home.

Back in Malaysia, if I were to asked to watch the celebration of the National Day in 'Merdeka Square', I would rather cuddle myself comfortably at home watching it live on TV rather than dashing to the place with million of people in the square. And look now, what were I doing in Hong Kong ? Stay up all night for the flag-rising ceremony ( well almost if we waited long enough ). Touristy, yeah , but hey, I'm the trainee now. And yes, I'm a tourist in Hong Kong. At least for the time being. By the time I end my traineeship, I shall able to answer if my friends ask me for the places to dine and travel in Hong Kong.
